Best VPN for Hungary in 2024

Best VPN for Hungary

When it comes to internet freedom, Hungary is relatively permissive. There are no laws against political dissent, the LGBT community is mostly supported, and online content is rarely censored by regulatory bodies. Regardless, virtual private networks (VPNs) can be useful in this day and age.

For example, connecting to a remote server allows users to access content ordinarily filtered through geo-restrictions. This results in extra content on Netflix and other streaming services. Meanwhile, encryption makes you immune to surveillance and monitoring. Read on to learn which VPNs work best in Hungary.

Hmmm, why do you think ExpressVPN is overrated? it works very well for me. I’ve travelled in Hungary with it before, and while I admit I didn’t watch much Netflix while I was there, it worked great for everything else I need it for!

After searching for the best VPN, I think I’ve finally found exactly what I’m looking for with Astrill VPN. Such a great selection of extra features and the overall experience has been more than wonderful. I like being able to unblock geo-restricted sites, something not all VPN’s provide. Overall, I’m very happy with what I’m getting with Astrill. I think it should be the best in Hungary. Express vpn is just overrated

Just as you rightly said, when it comes to internet freedom, Hungary is definitely relatively permissive. Sometimes one needs to trade poor security for low cost if you are on a shoe string budget. VyprVPN is not a bad option for users.

Thanks for the article ! I’m planning to visit Hungary in the coming month and I wasn’t sure how I would be able to access the internet there of if there was censorship at all. It’s good to know.

Huge fan of Windscribe! The price is super cheap to start and it works great! The only downside is that it’s in Canada, but it’s proved very, very useful to me so far. It would be a good, cheap insurance against the growing oppression of internet freedom around the world, but especially here.

In almost all the lists of VPN providers offered, you are not considering CyberGhost at all as an option. Why is that? I think CyberGhost is a good one and you should add it to this list as well.

I advise everyone if Hungary to get a VPN soon. While the current law might be permissive, this could change rapidly with the government become more and more authoritarian.

Hi Vayrt, I completely agree with you. I don’t like the current government’s stand on Internet freedom, we should all be more careful and get VPN while we still can.

Thanks for your opinion!
