How to choose the best VPN for Singapore

Since there are so many VPNs available, it may be challenging to pick out the right providers for Singapore specifically. Here, we will discuss the different vital aspects of virtual private networks that we took into consideration upon making our list.

  • Privacy. Since Singapore is one of the Fourteen Eyes alliance countries, you must be sure that your chosen VPN will protect you from the government’s snooping. Therefore, providers based in privacy-friendly jurisdictions with no data-retention laws should be at the top of your list. In this case, NordVPN comes to mind.
  • Security. Nowadays, there are numerous threats posed online. From malware to trackers to phishing scams, there is no limit to dangers you could get yourself into by choosing to remain without the protection of a VPN. Key factors to consider in this section are malware protection, military-grade encryption, IP leak protection, and antivirus tools.
  • Global coverage. Firstly, for a VPN service to rank in our Best VPNs for Singapore list, it has to offer servers in Singapore. Secondly, a VPN you would like to invest in needs to offer a sizeable global coverage of servers so that you can have a wide selection of streaming libraries to use at your disposal internationally. Therefore, we highly advise opting for services with sizeable server fleets.
  • Combination of features and price. Price is a considerable fact to take into consideration. A premium VPN can be pretty pricey, whilst free VPNs can pose more risks than advantages. Therefore, we have put NordVPN with the most bang for your buck at the top of our list.
  • Device compatibility. Since most of us use a multitude of different devices every day, both for work and leisure, when choosing a VPN, we need to make sure that our devices will be supported. Moreover, a VPN must provide a considerate number of simultaneous connections or even an unlimited number of devices you can connect to simultaneously.
  • Customer support. All of us have had bad experiences with customer support service at one point or another. From a response to a complaint that took weeks to come to a customer support worker who just could not be bothered to help you, customer support can dampen your experience with any service just as much as it can improve. Therefore, we have put VPNs that offer client-oriented 24/7 live chat options and responsive ticket systems at the top of our list.

How to get a Singapore IP address

There are multiple ways to spoof your online location. That being said, a VPN is the most reliable and easy way. Therefore, we will present how you can get a Singaporean IP address hassle-free with a VPN.

Free VPNs for Singapore

Free VPNs can not only be slow and unreliable but even dangerous. Those of you who have been following some of the drama that involves free virtual private networks know that you should keep away from such free services like Hola VPN at all costs.

That being said, there are a few free services that may be worthy for you to explore in Singapore. Our top pick is Proton VPN. This freemium service is highly reliable, keep no logs of your activities online, and offer all the security and privacy essentials you may desire. That said, even this provider has data caps, very limited server locations to choose from, and lack geo-unblocking capabilities.

Therefore, we would highly advise opting for a free trial of a premium VPN. Our suggestion is a 7-day free trial of NordVPN. By choosing to go with this service, you’ll be able to try out everything that it has to offer at no financial expense.

Not only will you enjoy the fastest speeds that a VPN offers, but you will also have unlimited bandwidth, an enormous server fleet at your disposal, and the best streaming-unblocking capabilities. If you enjoy your free trial, you could opt for a long-term subscription plan at just $3.09/month. Also, remember that you have a 30-day money-back guarantee for all of their paid plans to test out the service in every way possible, pressure-free.

Below, we will present great ways to maximize your use of a Singapore VPN.

Access Singapore content anywhere

If you’re a Singaporean trying to watch your favorite series from abroad, or if you’re simply curious about what Singapore has to offer in terms of streaming content, a VPN is the answer to all of these potential issues.

The most popular streaming services in Singapore you should check out with your brand new VPN include Netflix, YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video, Singtel TV, and Starhub Go Max.

Gain access to better deals online

Since merchants often manipulate prices on their products depending on your location, you can unlock better deals on flight tickets, hotels, or even clothes, by spoofing your online location.

A reliable VPN can be the easiest way to access and explore great deals that would otherwise be unobtainable.

Improve your gameplay

In case you would like to improve your gameplay experience, a great VPN could be the answer to your prayers.

A VPN will help you with annoying gameplay aspects like lagging or latency. Moreover, a VPN can help you protect yourself against DDoS attacks or doxing.

In addition to all of this, you will gain autonomy over your digital footprint whilst gaming. By choosing a premium VPN service, you’ll have unlimited bandwidth, a large server selection, and an all-around great service at your disposal.

Bottom line

Every VPN we’ve included here has something to offer, but when it comes down to it, the best VPN for Singapore is NordVPN. This is different! NordVPN over ExpressVPN. Usually, ExpressVPN always takes the lead. Good to know there are competitors out there to give good competition.

Oh good! I’ll be travelling there in a few weeks, and I knew I needed a VPN but I wasn’t sure if the one I had would work. But since I’ve got NordVPN (I saw a YouTuber I really like recommend it last year, haha) I feel a lot safer and more prepared going into my trip. Thank you so much guys!

Your blog is indeed the best place to search information on VPN and its use. In Singapore, I can only imagine what life would be like on the web without the aid of VPN.

The only thing I’d like to see added to Nord VPN, is the ability to choose a specific server. Other than that, it works great!

I’ve heard from others that Windscribe VPN has terrible customer service and their servers were consistently slow. They state that they have a money back guarantee but you have to request the refund within three days of purchasing a plan. That doesn’t give you much time to decide if you like their service. Sounds like they don’t have much confidence in their service.

Thanks for your opinion!
