Best VPN for Czech Republic in 2024

With a healthy attitude towards internet policies and related progress, the Czech Republic enjoys high speeds and unrestricted freedom. That said, even in countries like the Czechia, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) are all the rage nowadays, and for good reason. Anyone with an interest in cybersecurity will know that a VPN must be used to bypass the growing, scary methods of hacking and snooping on your data.

VPNs let you get around pesky “not available in your country” blocks, keep your financial and personal data away from the hands of targeted hackers or mass data breaches, and keep the authorities away from your location.

We rank VPNs based on the following:

  • VPN security: does it use secure protocols? Is the encryption adequate?
  • Performance: does it disconnect often? Is it fast enough for streaming and downloading?
  • Entertainment: does it allow torrenting? Can it lift regional restrictions?
  • Ease of use: is there customer support? Is it user-friendly?
  • Price: is it affordable?

  • Security in the form of multi-hop (double VPN)
  • SmartPlay for smooth streaming experience
  • No router app

NordVPN really exemplifies why people tend to say that VPNs are a “trust industry.”

Their independently-audited no-logging policy is backed by their Panama-based operations, and with encrypting data at 256-bit using a 2048-bit handshake and accompanied by features such as multi-hop, double VPN, and Onion over VPN, ensures users stay protected every step of the way.

NordVPN runs over 7000 servers, and the app can show you what you get with each: anti-DDOS, P2P, dedicated IPs, and so on.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a flaw with NordVPN, and at barely $3 a month with their best-priced plan, this a VPN well worth considering.

Surfshark VPN is a welcome newcomer to the best VPN services family as it offers solid security as well as an additional quality of life features.

For starters, the network offers 3200+ servers across 100 countries. Every Surfshark plan comes with access to all its native apps, available for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. Plus, there are no limits on the number of simultaneous connections.

The service is just as impressive when it comes to technical essentials, including AES-256 encryption, OpenVPN and IKEv2 support, a no-logs policy, and a kill switch to protect you if your connection drops.

Alongside these premium security features, you also get a fair amount of usage options. Surfshark is great for Netflix and other streaming platforms. It also works for torrenting since P2P capabilities are enabled on all servers.

Unexpectedly, Surfshark doesn't charge that much when compared to the competition, making it one of the best value VPN's in the market.

Privat Kommunikation Sverige AB, the makers of PrivateVPN, is based in Sweden. This might make you go “uh-oh,” but you’ll relax, just like we did, once you take a look at their carefully crafted and well-worded privacy policy.

There’s leak protection for IPv6 and DNS, protocols that run the gamut from OpenVPN with UDP/TCP and IKEv2 to L2TP/IPSec and PPTP, an automatic kill switch and a stealth mode to make your VPN usage imperceptible.

The servers are a dismal number (around a hundred), but at this price and with this myriad of good features, you’d be satisfied with the bang for your buck.

The way CyberGhost has dealt with accusations of privacy-encroachment make us include it in this list, with their transparency being appreciable. They handled complaints of their no-logging policy not being received well and followed it up with practical solutions.

In more than 60 countries, CyberGhost has a total of around 3,000 servers with all the modern protocols, AES 256-bit encryption, 2048-bit RSA and MD5 for HMAC, as well as perfect forward secrecy. Those in the know will recognize that these are amazing features.

It supports Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android devices, offering up to 7 simultaneous connections, which makes the value for money go through the roof. The refund policy is more than adequate (45 days) and you can sign up using your bank cards, PayPal, and Bitcoin.

Ultimately, a strong contender for best VPN for Czech which we see most users being very happy with.

Some of the best VPNs might offer around 200 servers. ExpressVPN, however, gives 3,000 of them in 148 locations. This way, you have servers ready for torrenting, able to unblock Netflix, and ready to let you download and stream whatever you want with great speed.

There’s an airtight no-logging policy that’s taken as an industry standard, in addition to a kill switch. ExpressVPN also works with all major protocols, such as OpenVPN (UDP or TCP), L2TP/IPSec, PPTP, and SSTP, all with 256-bit AES encryption.

What might keep some users from embracing it wholeheartedly is the pricing, however, which is slightly higher than others – perhaps on the strength of its server count and the peace of mind you can get in exchange for the money you give.

Is it safe to use a VPN in Czech Republic?

In spite of their attempts to make everyone personally identifiable on the internet, the Czech government (and their attempts to remove online anonymity) can still be thwarted by VPNs. This upholds Czech’s status as one of the least restricted internet userbases on Earth, aware of their rights and quick to protect any regressive ideas.

Free VPN for Czech

You might have heard this oft-repeated adage: if you don’t pay for it, you’re the product. Yes, some “free” VPNs exist solely to steal your data (proving there’s no such thing as a free lunch), while others still only cause more annoyance with their slow speeds and wonky security.

Our suggestion would be the Opera browser that comes with a built-in VPN both on desktop and mobile. It offers three server options that then connect to the speediest location in the locations (Europe, Americas, and Asia) and can get you around the toughest of geo-blocks.

If you’re in Czech, which of these VPNs have you used before? Did we miss any great VPNs for Czech? Let us know in the comments below.

I honestly have to say, PrivateVPN cut my download speed from 326Mbps average down to 119Mbps tops.

Doesn’t matter which encryption settings I choose, etc. Testing on same servers.

I need a VPN for my iPhone while I’m traveling in the Czech Republic, so it’s a relief to find that so many of these VPNs work on iOS!
