UPDATE: The Pulse CCM Kodi build has been discontinued.

If you’re reading this article, you’re probably looking for a way to transform your Kodi into a fully-featured streaming machine. Well, thanks to Pulse, you can do that in a matter of minutes – but you’ll need a trustworthy guide.

In case you didn’t know, Pulse isn’t a typical Kodi add-on. Instead, this is a build that, upon installation, transforms how your Kodi looks and how it behaves. In other words, Pulse automatically populates Kodi’s library with a bunch of add-ons and also brings a fresh coat of paint.

If you’re looking for a guide on how to install Pulse on Kodi, you’ve come to the right place. Aside from providing our step-by-step installation guide, we’ll also talk about what builds are, why you should install them, what they actually do, and plenty more.

So, without any further ado, let’s start talking about the Pulse add-on for Kodi. First, we’ll explain the basics of this Kodi build.

Introducing – the Pulse Kodi Build

We’re sure that you have a lot of questions about Pulse. This is why we’ll first teach you a few things about it before we get to the installation method.

The most critical piece of information about Pulse is that we’re talking about a Kodi build. In essence, there are three types of third-party software creations for Kodi, so let’s take a moment to talk about them.

  • Add-Ons for Kodi: We’re sure that you’ve already heard about Kodi add-ons. You can use these to add external streaming sources to Kodi, which in turn allows you to stream TV shows, movies, music, and pretty much anything in between.
  • Skins for Kodi: On its own, Kodi brings a nicely designed and highly intuitive UI (user interface). However, there are hundreds of skins out there that you can install. These can change how your Kodi looks, bring new types of menus, and plenty more.
  • Builds for Kodi: Lastly, we come to builds. You can think of these as a combination of skins and add-ons. When you install a build, you will end up with an all-new skin – turning your Kodi’s appearance into something else. And on top of that, you’ll get dozens of add-ons already installed and ready to be used.

As mentioned, Pulse is a build. So, you must be wondering how does Pulse change your Kodi’s appearance and what kinds of add-ons does it bring? Let’s find out.

What kind of appearance does Pulse bring?

Pulse is based on a hugely popular third-party Kodi skin called Xonfluence. You can recognize it by its prominent horizontal main menu, large artworks, and touch-friendly controls.

When you install Pulse on Kodi, you will see a horizontal menu bar where you can switch between content categories. As you do that, you will see sub-categories underneath. And at the very bottom of the screen, you will see preinstalled add-ons.

If you stop for a moment on any of the currently available categories (within the main menu), you will see nicely designed movie posters. They are at the top of Kodi’s UI, so you quickly jump into a specific title and begin to stream.

Since Xonfluence brings very fluid navigation and comes with large control icons, it works great on touchscreen devices. Still, it will work smoothly on any device, including your large-screen TV.

What can you do with Pulse for Kodi?

We promise that after your install Pulse on Kodi, you’ll be amazed by what it offers. This build contains a vast number of individual add-ons that bring a huge array of content. So, to make this a bit clearer, we’ll take a look at some content categories present within Pulse.

  • TV Shows: The first category you’ll see is related to TV shows. Pulse relies on hugely popular add-ons such as Covenant, Placenta, and Neptune Rising for this type of content. You will also get to browse TV shows by genre, date of upload, popularity, and more.
  • Kids Zone: In case you have kids, you’ll be happy to know that Pulse brings just about any popular cartoon. To make this possible, you can rely on add-ons like Cartoons8, Kids Tube, and B99TV.
  • Sports: There’s no way that such a popular build doesn’t have a dedicated sports zone. In this category, you’ll find add-ons like Planet MMA, Sports Hub, Rising Tides, WWE On-Demand, and others.
  • Live TV: Yes, you read that right. Thanks to unofficial add-ons like Cerebro IPTV, Made in Canada IPTV, and FilmOnSimple – you can watch both big-name and obscure TV programs.

Of course, this isn’t where Pulse’s content categories end. You will find groups related to movies, fitness, and music. Needless to say, you’ll hardly end up without at least a few viable options.

Are there any alternatives to Pulse?

It wouldn’t be fair to say that you can’t find viable alternatives to the Pulse add-on for Kodi. There are plenty of developers out there creatng Kodi builds, so you have quite a few options in front of you.

Among the most popular builds, you can find the following ones: Titanium, Durex Build, Misfit Mods Lite, BK Nox and BK Links. However, all of these are quite similar in terms of the content they bring.

Since you can’t install and run two Kodi builds at the same time, you need to decide which one you’d like to try. Then, keep all others as alternatives.

Is Pulse blocked in any countries?

Since this isn’t a typical Kodi add-on, Pulse is not blocked in any countries. This means that you can install Pulse on Kodi without any hurdles. However, there’s something else to keep in mind.
Since this build relies on many unofficial add-ons to deliver its content, these add-ons might get you into trouble. These are unofficial add-ons and some of them might be blocked by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Furthermore, using most of them amounts to copyright infringement.

Our strong advice is to use a VPN application to protect yourself. In fact, using a VPN has become imperative these days, and every Kodi user should be aware of that.

Why should you use a VPN?

It’s immensely important to understand that using Kodi without any digital protection can get you into trouble quickly.

The most common problem that Kodi users face is copyright infringement. Simply said, there’s no way of knowing from which sources you stream movies and TV shows, and many of those are piracy-related links. Therefore, you ISP sees you streaming a pirated movie, and that’s how you get a copyright infringement notice.

Another common problem is related to geo-blocked content. If you’re not in a specific country, like the USA or UK, you’ll see a limited number of working links. There’s no way of accessing these unless you have a corresponding IP address.

A highly effective solution to all of those problems is VPN applications. These come as subscription services, and they are designed to hide your real IP, get you a virtual IP, and encrypt your traffic. This means that your online activity will be fully anonymized.

Do yourself a big favor and always combine a VPN with your Kodi. After all, this is the only way to get the most out of this home theater software.

From the update posted it seems pulse is now paused for now on Kodi, but I do hope though that in no time they will get it back and have us to enjoy the extra feature that pulse offers which is definitely great.

Well I thought this plugin would be great but if it’s discontinued I guess I’ll never now. Too bad it went off. I’ll try other plugins, I’ve seen you have many articles about Kodi.

It’s saddening to see the Pulse CCM going off. It was one of the great add ons I’ve had so far.
