VPNBaron Review
Although it lacks many advanced features, VPNBaron is still pricier than other similar-tier VPN services. Choosing a better provider is a good idea.
Install this easy-to-use VPN and secure yourself from hackers. VPNBaron does not keep data logs, ensuring that no record is kept of your browsing data, keeping everything anonymous.
This service provides moderately fast and stable connections to its users. Speeds went down considerably after we connected this VPN to our computer but a downtime in speed is normal.
There is no chat window for real-time customer assistance. However, there is a FAQ section that contains useful information. To resolve a query, you need to write an e-mail. This VPN routinely changes its IPs and maintains a tight check on DNS leaks.
Keep reading this VPNBaron review to find out if it’s right for you. Alternatively, you can check our best VPNs overall instead.
VPNBaron does not offer much for such a high price. There are plenty of cheaper VPNs that include more features and have better performance. NordVPN, for example, facilitates the best speeds in the industry and has plenty of advanced features for a low cost.
Is VPNBaron safe to use?
This VPN uses the AES-256-CBC encryption. The AES standard has been designed by a US-based organization and has been accepted by many VPNs as standard security.
It supports OpenVPN, and you can also choose L2TP and IKEV2 protocols. This means that its users are safe and secure as hackers will have a hard time breaking into your system.
There is also a kill switch in place, which will see the connection severed instantly if there is any issue with the VPN. VPNBaron uses the Google DNS to check for DNS leaks.
VPNBaron is registered in Romania and doesn’t keep logs, so you can be more assured that any of your personal information will not be handed over to any surveillance networks.

Formerly known as X-Box Media Player, Kodi is an open source media center. To set up your DD-WRT Router, visit http://192.168.1.1/. Enter your login credentials and password, then go to Administration, Save Startup, and then Set the DNS tabs.
Is VPNBaron allowed in China?
Unlike many other VPNs, this service works well in China. The Chinese authorities censor all kinds of information going to and coming from that country. However, if your VPN is using an OpenVPN protocol, then it can get past the Chinese censors by using port 80 and port 443. VPNBaron uses its Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technology to bypass China’s Great Firewall.
DPI is a filtering technology that checks every data packet going from one computer to another. Though VPN connections can bypass firewalls on their own, the DPI technology comes into picture when the ISPs actively scan users’ traffic.
Torrenting and Netflix
VPNBaron supports both these services. To improve your torrenting experience, use the Vuze BitTorrent client, which is free for Windows and Mac. Unlike other VPNs, VPNBaron can let you watch Netflix US content, possibly flying under the radar because it is still new. This content is available on PC, Mac, and Linux platforms but not on mobile devices. If you use a mobile device, you will get a proxy error.
Customer Service
While reviewing VPNBaron, we found that problems are resolved quickly. Just go to the Members Area, log in, enter your password, and submit your ticket. If you’re not a member, then go to “The Let’s Get in Touch” area which is next to the Member Area. Write your name and email ID and submit your query.
The FAQ section is very helpful for those who are interested in VPNBaron. However, it is difficult to navigate to this section.
Pricing
There are three pricing plans – “Bronze”, “Silver”, and “Gold”. Each of these plans offers unlimited bandwidth, access to Netflix USA, and torrenting.
- The “Bronze” plan is for one month and can support two devices costing $10.00.
- The “Silver” plan is for 6 months and costs $8.33 per month.
- The “Gold” plan is for 12 months and costs $5.99 per month.
You can pay using PayPal, cryptocurrencies, and credit cards. Please note that credit card transactions are processed by PayPal.
Summary
To sum up, VPNBaron is a good entry-level service for newbies. Users remain safe and anonymous because VPNBaron uses Google DNS to check data leaks.
Its speeds are average, but the connection is stable. A plus point is that it should work for usage in China, and you can enjoy Netflix when using this VPN.
Customer support is lacking in live chat, but at least they make up for that by providing other types of help. Overall, VPNBaron’s features are quite basic, which is good because it makes it easier for them to focus on the core elements of the VPN.
Although it lacks many advanced features, VPNBaron is still pricier than other similar tier VPN service providers. Which is why your best bet is to shop around for a better VPN deal, like NordVPN (now 74% off).
